Dermatology in Abu Dhabi

Central Clinic’s dermatology department provides specialist care for skin, hair and nail conditions — from everyday concerns like acne and eczema to complex and rare skin disease. Our dermatology service is led by Dr Mohannad Hamid, a Specialist Dermatologist with more than twenty years of clinical experience, consulting in both Arabic and English.

We are located on Hamdan Street in central Abu Dhabi, next to Marks & Spencer, and open seven days a week.

Skin Conditions We Treat

Skin problems rarely resolve on their own, and the right treatment depends on the right diagnosis. Our dermatologist assesses each patient individually before recommending a treatment plan.

  • Acne and acne scarring — active breakouts, hormonal acne, post-acne marks
  • Pigmentation and melasma — uneven skin tone, dark patches, sun damage
  • Eczema and dermatitis — including contact and atopic dermatitis
  • Psoriasis — assessment and long-term management
  • Fungal and bacterial skin infections
  • Hair loss and scalp conditions — including alopecia and dandruff
  • Nail disorders
  • Moles, warts and skin lesions — assessment and removal
  • Paediatric skin conditions — children’s eczema, rashes and birthmarks
  • Rare and bullous skin diseases

Laser and Aesthetic Dermatology

Alongside medical dermatology, Central Clinic offers laser and aesthetic treatments carried out under specialist dermatological supervision.

Why Central Clinic

Central Clinic has served Abu Dhabi since 1980. Patients choose our dermatology service for three reasons:

A specialist, not a general practitioner. Skin is a specialty. Our dermatology consultations are carried out by a licensed Specialist Dermatologist registered with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi.

Diagnosis before treatment. We do not sell treatment packages before we know what is wrong. Every patient begins with a skin consultation.

Arabic and English. Consultations are available in both languages, without an interpreter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a dermatologist?

No. You can book a dermatology appointment directly. Some insurance plans require a referral for coverage — check with your provider, or ask us when you book.

Is dermatology covered by insurance?

Medical dermatology is covered by most plans we accept. Cosmetic and aesthetic treatments are generally not covered and are paid directly.

What happens at a first dermatology consultation?

The dermatologist takes a full history, examines the affected area, and explains the diagnosis and treatment options. Some conditions can be treated the same day; others need investigation first.

Do you treat children?

Yes. Our dermatologist has particular experience in paediatric skin conditions.
