What it is
Two treatments that work better together than apart. The facial cleanses, exfoliates and clears congestion so the skin surface is open and even. The Dermapen then creates thousands of fine micro-channels, which prompt the skin to rebuild collagen over the following weeks and let serums reach far deeper than they would on their own. Doing them in a single appointment means the needling meets clean, prepared skin — which is the whole reason the order matters.
What it is not
It is not an instant result. The facial part shows the same day. The Dermapen part works over three to six weeks as collagen rebuilds — which is why it is judged after a course, not after one session.
It is not done over active breakouts. Needling across inflamed acne spreads it. Active acne is treated first, and a skin consultation is where that starts.
It is not a pigmentation treatment. For melasma, sun damage or dark patches, the pigment itself has to be targeted — see Pico and Q-Switch laser.
The session
Cleanse and exfoliate
Skin is deep cleansed and exfoliated, and congestion is cleared. This is the part that makes the needling worth doing.
Numbing
A topical numbing cream is applied and left to take effect before the Dermapen begins.
Dermapen microneedling
Needle depth is set for your skin and the area, then worked section by section across the face. Serum is driven in as it goes.
Soothe and protect
A calming mask and sun protection finish the session. Skin will be pink, like mild sunburn, for a day or so.

Common questions
Why book the combo instead of the two separately?
Cost and sequence. It is priced below a facial and a Dermapen session booked as two appointments, and the needling is done on skin that has just been properly cleansed and exfoliated — which is the order that gets the most out of it. It also means one 40-minute visit rather than two.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream goes on before the Dermapen and is left long enough to work. Most people describe a light scratching or vibration rather than pain. The forehead and along the jaw tend to be the more sensitive areas.
What is the downtime?
Skin is pink and feels warm, like mild sunburn, usually for 24 to 48 hours. Some light flaking can follow a few days later. Leave makeup off for 24 hours, keep out of the sun, and pause retinol, acids and scrubs for about a week.
When will I see a difference?
The facial part is visible the same day once the pinkness settles. The texture change from the Dermapen builds over three to six weeks as collagen forms, and continues after a course finishes. Scarring in particular is judged after three sessions, not one.
Is it safe on darker skin?
Yes. Microneedling uses no heat and no light, so it does not carry the pigmentation risk that some laser treatments do on deeper skin tones. Needle depth is still set individually, and sun protection afterwards matters for everyone.
Can I book it before an event?
Leave at least a week, ideally two, so any pinkness and flaking has fully passed. If it is your first time, come well in advance so you know how your skin responds before it matters.
Who should not have it?
It is not done over active acne, open or infected skin, or eczema and psoriasis in flare. Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood thinners or roaccutane, or have a history of keloid scarring. Anything unclear is settled at the assessment before the session, not during it.
What are the package terms?
Courses are non-refundable and non-transferable, valid for six months from purchase. Unused sessions are forfeited after that, and a missed appointment without notice is deducted as a used session.
