What to expect afterwards
This is a resurfacing treatment, so there is downtime. Skin is usually red and may feel like sunburn, then flakes as it renews. Recovery can take several days to around two weeks, depending on the area and the settings used.
Plan around events. Leave enough time before any occasion where you want your skin settled. Your dermatologist will advise on timing at the assessment.
Sun protection matters. Treated skin is more sensitive to the sun while it heals, so daily SPF is part of the aftercare.

Can it treat acne scars?
Fractional CO2 is commonly used for acne scarring. How much it helps depends on the type and depth of the scars, so your dermatologist assesses them first and tells you what to expect. Active acne is treated before any scarring.

Scarring is usually treated as a course. Your dermatologist will tell you at the assessment whether a course is right for your skin and how many sessions to expect.
Is it covered by insurance?
